Lessons on Your Horse

Holly Chester and Kevin Bruce offer lessons to child and adult boarders of all experience levels. The farm's two extremely experienced trainers teach borders with a focus on safety, effectiveness, and style, creating strong and capable riders that are competitive in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings.  All beginning riders are taught proper horse care and horsemanship. After consulting with Holly and Kevin, boarders can choose from private, semi-private, and group lessons. 

        Lessons on Broad Run Horses

Sara Fleishman teaches private and semi-private lessons on her own horses and ponies. These animals have many years of experience in lessons and as “A” show horses. Ranging in size and difficulty, they are all sweet, well-mannered, and fun to ride, making them the perfect lesson horses and allowing Sara to accommodate children and adult riders at all levels. Sara’s horses and ponies are available for half-lease.  Interested riders can also gain valuable experience at the area's fun local shows.

Training

Holly, Kevin and Sara's collective years of experience and intuition provide a very special opportunity for training horses and ponies.  Each animal is specifically observed and evaluated, taking into account the horse's individual personality, style, and athleticism.  Then, a customized program is put in place with full consideration of the ultimate goals and objectives of the owner and/or rider. The horse is developed through a basic understanding of the aids classically used for flatwork and jumping with an emphasis on refining the horse's understanding of those aids to suit the style of its owner/rider.  The result of conditioning, positive reinforcement, classic education and a horseman's understanding of the animal's personality is an improved horse that is enjoyable to ride.  We specialize in bringing out a horse's best jumping style and overall rideability.
